Dr Adeleke Dankuwo, Toyyib Oke, 11 Others Cleared For IYC Elections

After a thorough screening of aspirants for the elections of Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), 13 candidates have officially emerged to contest for various positions.

The aspirants who are unopposed had, on Wednesday, appeared before the screening committee led by Mr. Toheeb Sanni, at the Adeboruwa palace, where they were drilled on their indigineship/residency, educational background, past activities/contributions to Igbogbo, and their agenda if elected, among others.

At the end of the screening exercise, all the 13 were cleared for the elections slated to hold at the Adeboruwa palace in Igbogbo on Saturday, September 21 (today).

Among the candidates cleared for the election are Dr Adeleke Dankuwo, the IYC Presidential candidate, Mr Toyyib Oke, the General Secretaryship candidate and Damilola Ogunbanwo.

The cleared candidates presented their manifestos physically and virtually on Friday.

Speaking with the Chairman of the IYC Electoral Committee, Mr. Toheeb Sanni, he said that the screening went well with outstanding performances from the candidates.

“The whole exercise went well with all the aspirants expressing themselves. Majority of them exhibited good sense in engaging issues and quite experience in IYC and general community engagements. They have been involved and participated fully over the years.

“Others are just coming up, but they were able to express their commitment and readiness to participate.

“The happiest thing is that they are all professionals in all the offices being aspired for, and they are ready to give their best and move IYC forward”, he said.

The electoral commitment chairman also assured youths and residents of Igbogbo generally, that they should be expecting quality and experienced individuals to man different offices.

“We should be expecting nothing but a free and fair elections. We should expect quality materials to take over from the outgoing executives.

“The incoming administration will definitely usher in a new regime with vigour and committed to develop the IYC”, he said.

  3. VICE PRESIDENT 2- MR. ABIODUN AWOSANYA – 60%
  4. GENERAL SECRETARY – MR. OKE TOYIB – 95%
  5. ASSISTANT GENERAL SECRETARY – MS. ABDUL T. ADESOLA – 90%
  6. TREASURER – MR. OGUNBANWO DAMILOLA – 65%
  7. FINANCIAL SECRETARY – MR. ABDULRASAQ ABDULATEEF – 90%
  8. P.R.O – MR. ALIU MUBARAK – 80%
  9. PROJECT COORDINATOR – AMUSA ADEBAYO IDRIS – 85%
  10. PROJECT COORDINATOR 2- MRS. OGUNLEWE BUSAYO ODIVBRI – 70%
  11. CHIEF WHIP – MR. KUTI DAMILARE OPEYEMI – 75%
  12. LEGAL ADVISER – BARR. AMOKUNMOSA RHODA – 65%
  13. WELFARE – MS. FANIYI OMOLARA O. – 85%
